Back to Nature’s 5th Annual Holiday Tree Giveaway – Our Gift to You, Your Gift to Nature!

For the 5th year in a row, Back to Nature Home and Garden is providing new meaning to the traditional Holiday Giving Tree. In the spirit of giving, the tree itself is the gift—both to children and the environment—and Back to Nature is inviting children and their families to participate this holiday season.

Back to Nature’s 5th Annual Holiday Tree Giveaway event will run from November 23 – December 24*. They will be donating free evergreens to local communities and inviting children to experience the joy of decorating them in Santa’s Workshop located at their garden center. In exchange, Back to Nature is asking the children to commit to planting the live trees in their yards next spring as a lesson in sustainability and the importance of giving back to the Earth.

“We are delighted to be continuing this fun and important tradition,” said Anthony Sblendorio, founder of Back to Nature. “We love that the kids and families share in our excitement and keep coming back year after year to help give back to the environment. The holidays offer us a unique opportunity to help educate people about the environmental impact of tree loss.” Over 5,000 trees have been donated to local families through the program. Participants make a commitment to plant the live trees to help off set the destruction from Super Storm Sandy and from a new threat – the Emerald Ash Borer.

“Our area tree population is still recovering from the devastation of Superstorm Sandy, and with the new threat of the Emerald Ash Borer, we need to continue to support our environment,” says Sblendorio. The Emerald Ash Borer has killed more than 25 million trees in the United States. The destructive pest was first found in New Jersey in Somerset County in 2014 and has since spread to six counties.

Everyone is invited to participate in the Holiday Tree Giveaway by stopping by Back to Nature during their regular business hours. The Home and Garden Center is transformed for the Holiday Season into a festive Santa’s workshop and winter wonderland holiday shopping boutique. Visitors are invited to enjoy s’mores, refreshments and browse for environmentally-friendly, artisan-crafted housewares, gifts and more.
